Welcome and thanks for taking the time to read my blog. I’ll be posting once a week on various topics such as; volunteering, life as an expat, being a mom and the practice of writing. I’ve been thinking about the theme of this blog and I’ve come up with one word that sums it up: PRACTICE.
I practice writing (see, I’m doing it right now–building those writing muscles up, right here on the screen). I practice parenting on my children (God help them!). I practice being a good wife (well, most of the time). I practice being an expat and growing and thriving where I’m planted (no matter how much of a struggle it may be). I practice yoga, peace and being a better human (this is not as easy as it sounds). And, I practice making time for things that are important to me, rather than letting life just happen to me or letting the opportunities it holds just pass me by (also, not as easy as it sounds).
I do not claim to be an expert at writing, or anything really, for that matter. I need practice, practice at lots of things! Practicing is like a journey and the journey really is what life is all about. I hope you enjoy a few of the thoughts I have on my journey. I’m hoping that sharing them might encourage you to discover and take time to practice the things that are important to you. See you next week.

Terrill: You only have written the intro to your blog, and I already love it!!!! I love the ocean picture 🙂 I am sooo happy for you!
Hi Terrill! Your blog looks great, and I love your theme. When the cellist Pablo Casals, then in his 80s, was asked why he practiced 4-5 hours a day, he replied, “Because I think I’m making progress.” (I actually googled the quote to make sure I got it right: http://quoteinvestigator.com/2014/02/12/casals-progress/)
Keep making progress!
