The Earth Loves Me
Amazon Reviews

This is a lovely book about the Earth and all the wonderful things children can enjoy in the outdoors. During these pandemic times when kids may have been isolated indoors too much, it is a reassuring reminder that we are never really alone because there is all of nature out there for us to explore. The book is easy to read, well organized, and uses descriptive words like “illuminate” to reinforce calm, beautiful images. My daughter said she felt very secure after I read her The Earth Loves Me. Thank you!

As a public school educator, I am always looking for a new book to emphasize our connection with nature. The Earth Loves Me is perfect for my collection! I see opportunities to teach lessons on the five senses, weather, gardening, figurative language, and more. I think it’s a great book to emphasize that we should disconnect from screens and get outside. Terrill Martinez’ writing and Elsa Escoto’s bright illustrations are a great combination.

This is a sweet and lovely book. The many different ways the Earth loves us are enumerated and illuminated here through gentle prose and simple, appealing drawings. Children will feel supported by the earth they live on after reading this book – and may be inspired to get outside and enjoy some of the things the unnamed protagonist does for themselves. At the end of the book, the reader is invited to contribute their own experience, celebrating how the reader is a part of the book and, really, of the Earth itself.
